PROVO MISSIONARY TRAINING CENTER

PHOENIX...HERE WE COME!
We could not resist the traditional photo in front of "the map" in the MTC. President Taylor and I entered the MTC on Wednesday June 22, 2011 for our five days of New Mission President Seminar, and Wow! What a wonderful ride! We were taught correct principles by the entire First Presidency and most of the Quorum of the Twelve. We had workshops about wonderful, new and exciting approaches in missionary work, and rubbed shoulders with 128 of the most amazing mission president couples in the world! We wish we could have a reunion in three years to compare stories and to laugh and cry again together!
While at the MTC, we enjoyed regular visits to the MTC Mailroom...not to pick up mail...but to visit our daughter Breanna, who works there. All our children have been employed here while students at BYU so it has been fun to go see her whenever we could! We will miss her terribly!
The absolute HIGHLIGHT of this entire week though, was the opportunity to meet OUR MISSIONARIES! We met Sister Watson, Sister Overy, Elder Larsen and Elder Neves, who were the four missionaries headed to Phoenix at the MTC during our training. Our English-speaking missionaries were in between transfers, so these four are all learning Spanish!
We were more than excited to first introduce them to part of our family (our son Braden, who will accompany us, and our youngest daughter Breanna joined us this night) and then to learn more about them. They were AMAZING! Our testimonies of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ were strengthened as we saw and most importantly FELT their strength and goodness. We look forward to welcoming them to Phoenix in three weeks and look forward to heading down this Wednesday July 29, 2011 to start the experience of a lifetime! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and is for EVERYONE. This is our purpose, to take that message to the ARIZONA PHOENIX MISSION area!

SET APART TO SERVE

Wow! Here we go! June 14 we were set apart by President Boyd K. Packer and Elder Costa of the Seventy. They were personable and encouraging. President Packer has background in the Park Valley/Grouse Creek- Utah area and Almo/Malta-Idaho area so there were some fun conversations and memories of that area. He shared with us his experience of helping with one of the presidential elections in that area where they actually used HOMING PIDGEONS to send in the poll results from these little ranch towns! It was a wonderful experience to meet with these faithful men.
The Taylor family headed to Phoenix! Scott, Cheryl and Braden
