REXBURG ROADIE REUNION September 2015

AND WE'RE OFF!  Headed to Rexburg to visit the APM in that neck of the woods!

We tried heading up north last spring to say hello to RMs in Rexburg and it was so much fun we came back for MORE!!!

We had some of the same and a whole lot more new faces this time!

This crew checked out their space on the quilt...

 We saw the Dunns...they were the first sealing we attended the weekend we returned home from our mission 14 months ago!!

 AND...we got in on a NEW ENGAGEMENT!!!

Congrats to Ben Fagersten!!

 I loved how we got the girls all chatting it up:

We didn't get a big group shot of the 50-60 we had here tonight.
But here's one group: The Kailee and Douglas Hicks, Qwinton Brothers, Nathan Davies, Dane McFarland, John Kroeger and Roger Pollard and in front, Desirrae Barnett and Ryen Seaman.

 The next morning we headed to the temple with a small group to do sealings.  The temple was a holy madhouse of activity after being closed for 3 weeks and only being open till noon!  Oh, and Idaho Falls temple is also closed!  CRAZY!
Nama and Courtney Kamissoko, Roger Pollard, Taylors, Roni and Kyle Harris, Jett and Collette Hall.  We also had Blake Mullenix and the Hicks in our session with us but not in photos.

 

 Bonus Blessings:  Saw Jake Wade's Mom in the dressing room, then saw two APMers, Aubrey and Ryan Fluckiger(cousins) coming from the session where her brother took out his endowments prior to his mission.
VERY COOL!  We got to meet their folks too!

 Then it was lunch at PIZZA PIE CAFE in Rexburg.  We were smarter this time and reserved the conference room for our group.  It was perfect!
We were joined by several we had not seen the night before...

 The Halls cousins came to eat with us.

And Wes Giles and his fiance also joined us!  Made our day to see everyone!





I had to laugh when I saw John's plates...reminded me of the mission for sure!

September Activities 2015

 I cannot believe how busy our September ended up being!  In a good way...


We started in the best way ever, with a couple of sealings of returned missionaries.

It was great to have Braden invited to join us at the temple for his first live sealing.

We have had a few visitors this month...starting with Dylan Hyer who came with some friends on the way up to Rexburg.

Great to have Andy Marble come over while he was there for a visit too!

 And it made our month to have the WILLIAMS stop in for dinner when they came out for the reception of their granddaughter Mallory who married a young man from Lehi.

 Braden was glad to see them again too!

 We were sad the Williams had to get back to AZ...they missed the SUNDAY APM DINNER GROUP for September!

So fun to show the quilt to everyone!

 OK, the camera set on the back of the couch with a timer is not the greatest...
But we were so happy to have a visit from Kadee Esplin and Alisa Baumgartner Hansen while Alisa was in town from Boston!
Both are doing just awesome!

 I was able to go to a Missionary Report this month to hear Rebekah Wooden!  Such sweet memories of her as a Sister Missionary, and to see how great her service was and how much she grew!
And it was even sweeter as I got to see Shelby Hixson and Elizabeth Young at the meeting too!
Bonus Blessings!

 Speaking of bonus blessings...that is what it is when we get to see the siblings of our missionaries at the MTC.

This week it was Abby Jensen, Zach's sister, headed to Arkansas! And her companion is Sister Hyer...no idea if she is related to Dylan or not, but her Mom messaged me that she is cousins with one of my former student's mothers.

We love serving at the MTC with missionaries!!

 We love seeing them at the temple afterwards too!


This past week was busy with two more sealings.

I met these three lovelies in the Ogden temple for Kristian McCoard's sealing to Taylor Pearce.

Here comes the bride!  Sweet experience to be there for this!

 Here are all the cute missionary companions!

And our APM representation at the sealing:
Annakiah, Corinne, Michelle, Taylor and Kristian, Elder Templeton, Me, Sister Templeton and Nannette Leigh who came up from Phoenix just for the sealing!  What a sweet woman!

Templeton were over from New Zealand for the sealing and for upcoming conference and reunion!

Stayed up in Ogden and met President T for the wedding dinner for Paul and Hollie Wilson, and met Jake Wade there too!  We had to work the day of his sealing so this was a sweet time to meet their families and visit a bit!
Best reward of the mission is finding that ETERNAL companion!

Rexburg Reunion will be posted separately, that was a blast!


We came home from Rexburg and had a late night visit from Joseph Fife, who met us in Provo when he came down from Rexburg for a funeral.  Had a great visit with him that night!

And were joined in Sacrament Meeting at the MTC by the Templetons, who wanted to come visit their stomping grounds!  can't keep this couple from serving wherever they go!
we had a fun afternoon visit and dinner with them on Sunday!

AUGUST MISSION RELATED ACTIVITIES 2015

August was a whirlwind of activity at the Taylor household!  We had all our kids with us from the start of the month for  a family reunion with the Taylor side of the family, and then kept them to welcome home Braden from his mission to New Zealand Auckland.

He arrived home on the 11th of August and spoke in our ward on the 16th.  We invited APM friends to join us for that day and had about 30+ show up for sacrament meeting, many stayed for a special APM Sunday School Class, and a good  number also stayed to join us for lunch after church was done.

We just spread out through the yard and enjoyed visiting and eating.

It was really fun just to see the variety of mission friends that showed up!

We had some from way early in our mission down to recently returned!

And the day was even more sweet as we were joined by all our local family as well as the Janulis family from Phoenix!

The Janulis were able to share in our Sunday School class how the Gospel has changed their lives since they joined while we served there.

The Gospel continues to bless our lives and we JOY in meeting our APM missionaries and friends who remain true to the faith!!

We love this time of year when RMs are coming out to school in Utah and Idaho!


We got to meet the MESSICK family this month when Annakiah came out to live in Utah again!  She is just as cute as ever!

And a surprise visit from Angel Munoz one afternoon!  He recently moved to the Provo area and it was so good to catch up with him!  Braden happened to be home to be our photog too, so that was great as well!
We are so proud of our RMs!!

And we hosted our AUGUST APM DINNER

This week we were also treated to a visit from Dane McFarland on his way up to Rexburg.  We sure love that man!  He is going places!  Our missions give us experience that blesses our lives forever!
