ODDS & ENDS- March 2012

We have had the honor of participating in a national media campaign featuring MORMON.ORG

~We hope that all parents have created a profile and shared it with their friends and neighbors!
~We hope any of our non-member parents will please go to Mormon.org to see what your missionary son or daughter is teaching about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it blesses families!

We gave feedback on how the campaign was carried out in the Phoenix area.

We have learned a lot...and we realize that this tool is here to stay.

The pass-along cards you see at the top of this post are the new cards the Church has come out with to pass out to non-members encouraging them to go to this site to learn about our beliefs and members.

Toll free phone numbers on the back of other cards will become a thing of the past.  We embrace this new technology!

We appreciate the effort our missionaries have taken to use this tool in their work and know it will bless the lives of many as they learn about the Gospel in their own homes.

This month I also got out to teach with Sisters Harding and Brown...in Spanish again.  LOVE IT!  I am convinced as ever that we truly have the best sisters ever!  They have a gift in teaching that is very special.
President and I loved going to the Easter Pageant for the first time this year.  We invited our good friends and neighbors, the Janulis family.

The pageant was a beautiful tribute to he life and mission of our Savior Jesus Christ.  The Janulis are learning about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ  and it has been a joy to get to know them!
Before each transfer we take our Assistants to the temple to confirm with the Lord what he has in mind for each of his missionaries here.

We had a great experience with Elders Henrie and Bird on this beautiful day!
Conference Saturday we had the privilege of having "Our Elders" Elders Vaoga and Lynn over to watch conference with us and the Janulis'.

Afterwards they were the bearer of plants and such over to the neighbors for a family party they are having tomorrow.
They SERVE and LOVE those whom they are sharing the Gospel...which is EVERYONE!

OH HOW WE LOVE THIS WORK!

OFFICE CHANGES

As in any mission the name of the game is change and the office in no exception to that rule.

March brought the end of a 2 year mission by the SKONNARDS who have served faithfully as our Vehicle Coordinator and Referral Secretary.
We just love getting together as a group and loved this months get-together at the Cherry's home where we got to see the Cherrys along with saying goodbye to Skonnards and welcoming our new office couple, the Rodgers.
The photo below is in the office the last day of the Skonnards service...OH HOW THEY WILL BE MISSED!  We are just grateful that they have family down here in AZ so we know they will come back to visit so we will see them in the years to come!
THANK YOU SKONNARDS FOR YOUR LOVING SERVICE TO THE ARIZONA PHOENIX MISSION!!!
AND WELCOME ELDER AND SISTER RODGERS!!!  We are so excited to have them join us to fill the positions in Vehicle Coordination and Referrals.
The Rodgers come to us from the mission area.  This particular mission opportunity is an answer to both their prayers and ours!  THANK YOU RODGERS FOR ACCEPTING THE CALL TO SERVE!

W. Maricopa Specialized Training 3/12

We joined the great West Maricopa Zone for a Specialized Training this afternoon and it was a real treat!

Elder Rodgers came to do his famous CLEAN CAR AWARDS that they work so hard to earn.

Lots of cars in this zone, hence lots of awards.
President was so amused by how tall these zone leaders are that he got me up there to show the contrast...yup, they tower above me!
Elders Condie and Jeffs

We had a wonderful teaching session in this zone as well.

They are attentive and serious about what they are doing...and have a wonderful happiness and fun nature about them as they do this great work.

They always love having President Taylor come to instruct them as well.

Buckeye Goodyear Specialized Training 3/12

We spent the morning with the Buckeye/Goodyear Zone.  It was another beautiful day and was great to be greeted by so many happy faces!

Some of them were even happier when they won CLEAN CAR AWARDS from Elder Rodgers who has come from the mission office all month to do car inspections.

Zone leaders Elders Hampton and Blackhurst did a great job of teaching and then having their zone put into practice what they taught about.

I was thrilled to help out with the  Spanish Elders as their investigator...love to practice my Spanish and they are VERY PATIENT with me!

Braden came over after school and was cameraman...literally!
Zone Leaders are Elders Freeman and Cannon

The infamous CLEAN CAR AWARDS!

Practice Teaching with this zone was great as usual.
We learn so much from practicing out loud.
These will be the very best parents and teachers when that is their calling in life!
