SISTERS- TRAIL TO THE TEMPLE 3/12

CLICK HERE FOR ALL PICTURES OF THIS EVENT...MORE PICTURES WILL BE ADDED AS SISTERS SEND US THEIR PHOTOS!
We apologize, the setting on our camera was on something strange so most of our pictures were overexposed.  We will add photos from Sisters as they send us theirs.  Thanks!

Wed. March 14 we met as all Sister Missionaries for a Specialized training.  Our theme was:
"TRAIL TO THE TEMPLE"

We met at Thunderbird Recreation Area very near  our Phoenix Temple Site.  We started with a light breakfast and got ready to hit the trail.
Our purpose in this training was to help  underscore the importance of each principle of the Doctrine of Christ in helping us reach the temple and stay worthy to enter the Temple forever.

At our first plateau, we had a talk by Sister Robinson about how FAITH helps us towards the temple.  She did a great job!

The next level was a LONG PUSH!  It was not easy.  But we kept working steadily at getting up and made it to the top.

This is where Sister Fluckiger talked to us about how REPENTANCE helps us towards the temple.  Fantastic analogies!
Our next stretch took us to another peak...sort of the pinnacle of the hike.  Here we stopped for a great talk by Sister Bruckman about BAPTISM and how it leads us towards the temple.  We stayed here and took tons of pictures.  The view of the entire area was beautiful and far-reaching.

 Next we started hiking down.
We stopped partway down for a talk by Sister Graves about THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST and how that helps us in our journey to the temple throughout our lives.
Last, we found places to sit for a talk by our own temple missionary, Sister Winchell.   She and her husband are here overseeing the construction of the Phoenix Temple.  They operate a small visitor center at the site.  They are a blessing to the mission! We love them so much for the sacrifices they are making to be here to serve while this temple is being built!

Then it was down, down, down back to our vehicles and just fun to visit on the way.  So much more chatting going on from when we go with Elders!!
We drove over to the temple site and had a little tour by Elder Winchell.  We will be using this site to bring our investigators from now on!

We got the sisters split up and sent to shower and then met at the Mission Home for lunch and more training.
Our office sisters came to join us and it was fun to see them with our Mission Presidency Wives!  Sisters Morris and Lyon were so happy to see each other!
Sister Zayas made a fantastic Mexican Breakfast Burrito Bar for us that we added to fresh fruit kabobs and veggies and breakfast cakes.
 Sister Williams serving up cake!
After a very chatty lunch, we met for the afternoon in training on dress and grooming, effective Sister Exchanges, Testimonies from all our older Sister Missionaries about their experience going to the temple to be sealed, and then a training on teaching using the Doctrine of Christ weaved into all that we teach.

We ended with singing "I Love to See the Temple" with Sister Taylor signing in ASL and then "As Sisters in Zion."

Then we had a Sister Clothing Exchange in the garage...they all brought stuff and went home with different stuff!!

It was a beautiful day in every way!  We are blessed to have a large number of Sisters for a proselyting mission and we are SO BLESSED!
