TRANSFER DAY!!! It is an exciting time in a mission. It is a day of CHANGE.
All missionaries in leadership, with changes in leadership or area, are invited to come to this meeting to find out new areas, and to have meetings. We usually have about 1/3 of our missionaries at this meeting for some reason or another.
They love seeing each other and visiting. But they have learned to keep it reverent in the chapel. When we come in after the training meeting, we find a quiet reverence in the chapel in preparation for the meeting about to take place.
We love how they sing "Called to Serve" with vigor and purpose! They mean what they sing!
In this meeting they meet each new missionary and their trainer, they get words of counsel from President Taylor and myself, they get new assignments and then they get back to work.
However, it is a big job to get back to work. It involves many members that come and help haul them and their stuff to new places.
The parking lot is a frenzy of activity and happy missionaries!
I had a lot of medical issues to visit with missionaries about so Elder Vaoga took my camera a while to help out. THANK YOU ELDER V!!!
Look at this great shot of Elders Brame and Kamissoko!
Elder Catlett...this photo is in honor of YOU! Elder Cheadle wanted to honor you...and I have to admit, he has got almost as much style as you do :) I say "almost."
Elder Harline was sporting new glasses though...and they were very sharp indeed!!!
Then there is Elder Jensen...who got a surfboard for Christmas??? In Arizona??? I wonder who it was from???
We love you Elder Jensen!! We know you will use that board back in Wyoming after the mission! WE HAVE FAITH!
Some of the elders had some pretty sporty rides back home...oh yeah!
Isn't it great to see new missionaries right blended in with the older ones...they all look like they are in JUST THE RIGHT PLACE! HAPPY TRANSFER DAY!
