Mission Leadership Council for August 2013

At the start of each month the Mission Leadership meets to get instruction, council together and set goals for the month.
This involves our Mission Presidency, Zone Leaders, Sister Training Leaders and Assistants to the President.  For the time being, we are still fitting into the Mission Home.  I am praying we can maintain this meeting spot.  It is so good to have missionaries in our home!

The day began with some teaching on FAITH.  Each month we have a Mission Training Plan with specific focus for our studies and Faith is a topic for August.

We welcome a new member to our Mission Presidency!  Kerry Juchau joins President Taylor and President Morris as a second counselor in the Presidency.  We lost President and Sister Zayas to the Tempe Mission on July 1.

Sister Cathy Juchau joins her husband in helping with special needs of the Mission and we are loving working with the two of them already!

Lunchtime is looked forward to very much at any missionary meeting.  This was no exception.  You can see from the towers of food here that there was no problem with having enough food for them all!  And you also can see the amount of work it takes to feed this crew!  It is a labor of love I would not give up willingly!

This meeting today included a very long discussion of the long range VISION and GOALS we have for this mission for the next year.  We are mindful and very aware of how fast our last two years have gone, and that in a year we will be passing this mission into the capable hands of a new mission president and wife.
We are determined for the mission to continue to strive for excellence in all things.
As we spoke of our vision...we came back to our MISSION STATEMENT:
"In the Arizona Phoenix Mission:

We are a Preach My Gospel mission
We Love and Live the Book of Mormon
We Obediently Love and Serve
We always recognize and follow the Spirit."
Everything that we talked about fit into one of those sentences.
It starts with FAITH AND OBEDIENCE and ends with a lot of good, hard work on our part as we rely on the Lord.

We know that the principles of Faith and Obedience work in everyone's lives.  This is what we teach.  This is what we strive to live.  We pray that our families will have more blessings in their lives as they obey the commandments in faith as well.  The blessings we receive through our faith and obedience are more than we could ever hope for.
