JUNE MISSION LEADERSHIP COUNCIL (held the end of May) 2014

PLEASE CLICK ON THIS LINE TO SEE ALL THE PHOTOS OF THIS EVENT!

We don't often get to see President Taylor looking so casual...but he really helped me out by being the GRILLING MACHINE the night before our Mission Leadership Council!
He cleaned up pretty well to introduce the day with a doctrinal discussion about ENDURING TO THE END!  I think that is pretty appropriate a topic for us.  We LOVE enduring!  In fact, we LOVE THE ENTIRE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST!

So, what is so important about ENDURING?  Well...it is not as the word seems, something to bear with under great weight and pain and hardship...but rather, something very ACTIVE by continuing on in FAITH/REPENTANCE/ORDINANCES/USING THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST IN OUR LIVES FOREVER!

It is serving the Lord in whatever calling he gives you that requires you to use faith, repentance, ordinances and the Holy Ghost...it is the JOY IN THE JOURNEY!

Believe me...we understand joy in the journey and celebrate every day of our mission assignment!
You can see our great group of Sister Training Leaders and Zone Leaders, attentive and seeking how they can impart the feeling of what they are learning with those they have stewardship over!

I did not get a picture of my discussion(thats what happens when you are the photographer)...the PEARL AND THE BOX...you have probably heard the parable of the man who had the amazing pearl that he wanted to display and show the value of.  He crafted a bedazzling box to display it...so beautiful was the box, that people could not appreciate the pearl inside!
We had a really good discussion about what is the pearl and what is the box...try it!  It is really good to think about!

The pearl is the basic doctrine of Christ.  Much of how we implement it in programs etc. are the box.

The Assistants led a great discussion with each zone about their successes and concerns.  They were really creative in pairing them up with those who may have answers for each other in a breakout session.
Each set of Sister Training leaders was also involved in reporting the successes and concerns about the Sisters they serve.
We are so blessed to have their representation on this council.
We love seeing the growth and the "turning outward" that missionaries do as they serve others.  This is a key part of how we follow the example of Jesus Christ!
We celebrated our June birthdays on the Council.

In the afternoon we had some great discussions on previous topics like Family History, the Holy Ghost and Teaching One by One...using questions to help us learn.

We were treated to a musical number by Sisters Barnett and Summerhays "I Heard Him Come."
One of my favorites!

This council plays a vital role in the growth and development of each missionary, including ourselves!  We are grateful for their dedicated service!
