Mid Transfer Arrivals

 Rather unusual to get arriving missionaries in-between transfers.  But the MTC is trying to figure out how to handle the huge numbers of missionaries they have, and the condensed times in the MTC do not allow for "fast-tracking" language advanced missionaries.

So, they NOTIFIED us last week that we had missionaries coming on a certain date and time.
So, we got the talented and ready to serve:
Elder Cordero, Elder Borrayo and Sister Pickett.
WELCOME!!

It did not matter what we had planned, we had to make it work.  We are just glad we were in town!
So, DURING ZONE CONFERENCE, the Assistants and I spoke while President Taylor retrieved our three new AMAZING missionaries from the airport!

We welcomed them to our meeting by singing "Called To Serve" to them!

 We had lunch with them and introduced them to as many other missionaries as we could, and then Sister King and I took them during the afternoon session to get them all signed in and oriented and such.

They were SO TIRED that we had them nap while we did a wrap-up evaluation after our meeting! They are SO CUTE when they sleep!

And then they loaded up with us into the Highlander and it was off for the Phoenix Temple Site...

This beautiful temple will be completed while they serve here in Phoenix and will bless the lives of those that they teach!

 Back at the Mission Home, we got pictures taken and had them come in and eat dinner and more orientation by the Assistants and then some FAMILY TIME with President Taylor and I.

This was a treasure!  We had three missionaries all to ourselves to get to know and to share a bit about ourselves and our family.

 As is customary, these three pitched right in and helped make dinner and a breakfast casserole for the next mornings meal.

Yes, I trust them all with knives!

 We had a wonderful family time with them and then sent them to bed to get caught up on sleep!

 The next morning we were up bright...well, not so bright...and EARLY to start our day as we always do with EXERCISE

We had all their trainers...and rides and companions...a big crew, come pick them up that morning so we could get on our way to yet another Zone Conference.

I tell a story about a Quiltmaker...and it was really hard to tell it to a group consisting completely of missionaries who have come in while President Taylor and I have been serving here.





I see them as SHINING EXAMPLES of SERVICE, giving of themselves completely!
Oh, how we love these great people!  And oh, how we love what we are doing here!
This is the Lord's work.  It is a privilege to serve with Him in His vinyard!
