W Maricopa zone Interviews 4/13

We finished our month of ZONE INTERVIEWS today with the great West Maricopa Zone!
Each missionary is interviewed quarterly by President Taylor to see how they are doing and to answer and questions or concerns personally.  In addition, they write him weekly and he writes a letter to the mission weekly as well.  Between that and constant calls and texts, we are able to be in contact with our mission family very easily.  It is such a blessing!

 
We have small enough mission boundaries that we are able to gather a zone at a time as we do interviews for personal training with them.
Elder Roders comes to inspect their cars and bikes for safety and to make sure they are keeping things clean!  He trains on safety and gives out awards to clean and safe drivers and bikers.

I get to teach about 3 hours...combination of doctrine and discussion, health lesson of some sort and I always work in some type of activity!

Today I taught about our BOOK OF BLESSINGS...the white Missionary Handbook!  We love it so much and the blessing of keeping safe as we preach the Gospel.  The guidelines in it work!

  I also taught about how to plan an effective Preparation Day...it was great and an eye opener to see how much there is to do and how we need to use our time wisely!

As you can tell, the health focus for the month was CLEANING.  April is Spring Cleaning time in the APM.

We celebrate by playing the CLEANING RELAY RACE!
It is lots of fun, and it played with STYLE as shown by Sister Folsom and Elder Hancock.

 And there was a faceoff between Elder Laititi and President Taylor...so much sabotaging going on in their round!  Looks like a photo finish!

At the end of the day President Taylor came in and taught the principle of LIFT WHERE YOU STAND...as taught by President Uchtdorf in conference a while back.
With one hand, this group could easily lift a heavy piano by just standing where they were.
This is what we do as missionaries wherever we are assigned to serve!

 July 1, our mission boundaries will change and many of our missionaries will be reassigned to the Tempe Mission.  We will receive the Flagstaff Zone from the Farmington New Mexico Mission. Our boundaries will go up to the south rim of the Grand Canyon!

This Mission Family has room for all missionaries ever assigned to it!  The love part will never change!  We know that IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE WE SERVE, IT MATTERS HOW AND WHO WE SERVE!

Dear Elder Homer is experiencing some of that right now.
He had back surgery less than a year ago and was cleared to serve a mission, but his pain has returned severely so he will go home to have care.
IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE YOU SERVE!  IT MATTERS HOW AND WHO YOU SERVE!
This is true in every situation!

We loved our day with this great zone!  They are truly amazing people, and it was so great to see their love and compassion for each other!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true.  This is His restored Church.  The truths that were taught in His day are back, more completely and perfectly understood through latter-day prophets than ever.  The pattern of prophets continues...it just makes sense.
