PEORIA INTERVIEWS 7/13

We started our second week of Interviews this week.  Each quarter, missionaries have a personal interview from their Mission President.  This is the main purpose of Interviews obviously.

With our Zone boundaries so accessible, we can gather our missionaries in a group to do Interview day.  This is a perfect time for VEHICLE INSPECTIONS...

 ...and instruction from myself and the Zone Leaders.
My tradition is to play a game each interview session.
This month, our game was really interesting.
I had them sit in a circle and answer a series of questions about their missions and some deep thoughts on what they want to be remembered for.
It was really so great to listen to them.

 As each answered, they tossed a ball of string to each member of the zone who spoke.











As all interacted, they created a very cool WEB or NETWORK of ideas.  It was as they opened up and trusted each other that it had so much meaning.

 When we were done, we had a great net to toss a beachball on...and we kept it aloft with the net, heads and hands.  It was a lot of fun!

 After our safety video, Elder Rodgers awarded the CLEAN CAR AWARDS to each companionship with cars.  They do such a great job of cleaning.

We also celebrate BIRTHDAYS at Interviews.

We had a working lunch today as we watched the film "The 5000 Day Project; Two Brothers."  It was an incredible look inside the lives of a couple of young LDS men.  Their journey helped us open up and see ourselves and the potential we have to change and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Check it out.  One thing that I learned is that being "uncomfortable" is an essential part of life.  It is how we grow.  Becoming "comfortable being uncomfortable" was an expression from the film that we could relate to.
We love the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is by obedience to the principles of the Gospel that we are truly happy.  Faith, Repentance, Baptism/Ordinances, The Gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End are what we teach and what we live.
