TRANSFERS SEPT 2013

So...what is Transfers?  It is a meeting we hold every 6 weeks to facilitate a lot of things.
1. The main one is to bring together all missionaries who are being moved anywhere new in the mission.
2. We hold a leadership meeting for any new District leaders and all Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders.

 3. We hold a training with the Trainers and Trainees together.

This is where President tells each missionary who their new companion will be.
A Trainer is so important.  Trainers are assigned before any other leadership position in the Mission!  It is that important!

The hand of the Lord is definitely in the assigning of these trainers.

 Once they are introduced to each other, they chat for about 15 minutes and I take a photo of each companionship.  This should also have been emailed to parents.
We train them on how to use the 12 week training program designed by the leaders of the Church.  It is great!  The Trainers had already come to a 2 hour training on Monday as well.

 After our 1 1/2 hour training, the new Trainers and Trainees walk into the chapel full of everyone else who is there to be transferred, as we all sing "CALLED TO SERVE" including the verse about Phoenix.  You may not know that one...


It is inspiring!

Speaking of inspiring...we had a musical number today by Elders Stulen and Barrus.
They sang "Savior Redeemer" one in baratone and one in bass.  IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!  They had sung to us in our home when they came to pray with us last week (They are near our area) and we asked them to come do it for the meeting.

I am not sure why we have the privilege of serving with your great children.  It is a miracle each day to see the growth that they experience as they are so selfless, as they learn to treasure up music that they would have thought boring before a mission, as they learn to love to serve others more than themselves!

 After all the assignments are made, President Taylor shows a short video of recent baptisms, those who went home and those who just arrived titled "Come Take Your Place."  It is always wonderful!

Then we conclude by singing "A Marvelous Work" which is one of our Mission Songs!  We are a musical mission!


Then it is on to the parking lot which is organized chaos of missionaries coming and going and loading and unloading to get where they need to get!

We encourage you to do whatever you can to be a member missionary in the most active ways you possibly can.  You will be blessed as your children/family/friends are serving missions.  The Lord will place people in your path and you in theirs.  Of this I promise you!  Let us Go Forth to SERVE!
