MISSIONWIDE CONFERENCE October 2012

We had the privilege to have three General Authorities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints come do a Missionwide Conference with us Saturday morning.

They were in town for a large Leadership Meeting with all 16 Stake Presidents and the Bishops in those stakes, and arranged to meet with our mission in the morning before those meetings.

 We met Elder Neil L. Anderson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Elder Richard J. Maynes of the Presidency of the Seventy, and Bishop Gerald Causse of the Presiding Bishopric.  They were accompanied by Elder Michael Pickerd, our Area Authority.

 We took a few photos before entering the chapel.

 And we invited them to sign our Mission Flag!


After they entered, they stood up front and personally greeted all 172 of our fulltime missionaries along with our Office Couples and our Temple Missionaries, the Winchells.

It was very special to see them greet our missionaries by name, and see them look into their eyes.

We started our meeting with a special musical number; "A Marvelous Work" which the entire audience sang to them.  We split into parts for the second verse, and it was SO POWERFUL!

Elder Pearson is our honorary conductor and always leads with enthusiasm and a big smile!

We had in attendance most of our stake presidents from the Mission Boundaries, and they were greeted by the authorities as well.

Before the meeting we took a picture of our mission...we figure it may be the only time while we are serving that this will happen.

After a wonderful 2  hour meeting, where President and I and all three authorities spoke, we were able to go with them to tour the PHOENIX TEMPLE which is being constructed next to the chapel we were meeting in.  It was a rare privilege to be on sacred temple grounds during construction!
This shot is looking up into the spire from what will be the Celestial Room of the temple.  It will have stained glass with light shining down into the room...it will be magnificent!

We also got to walk down into the basement where the baptismal font is being constructed.  From the outside, you have no idea what is going on down there, but there are walls all over the place, and it is really coming along!

Please join us in praying that construction will move along as planned so that we will be blessed to be serving here as this temple is dedicated sometime in 2014.
