NEW ASSISTANT- Elder Pollmeier

 It is serious business getting a new Assistant to the President...

 ...and we have two great Assistants that fit the bill perfectly!  They are serious when they need to be serious and know how to have fun when it is time to relax a bit.

We welcome Elder Pollmeier as a new Assistant with Elder Alvis who has been serving for three transfer cycles already.
We now have a Texan and a Georgian as Assistants!

 This will be an interesting blend...or HYBRID COMPANIONSHIP as we call them, with Elder Alvis speaking English as his primary teaching language and Elder Pollmeier speaking Spanish.
They cover both an English and Spanish ward.  It is working well!

Our Assistants are pretty much AMAZING people.  They deal with so much, helping zone leaders lead and teaching as they do exchanges with them.  We count on them as we plan and carry out conferences and meetings.  And they always come through beautifully.

This is another story.
Last year when we were new to the mission, we discovered the beautiful centerpiece with all the vegetables in it...except the ones with all the roots hanging off them were a little strange, so I took them out of the arrangement and gave them to our current Assistants at the time; Elders Perkins and Falconer.  They doctored them up with Sharpie and when they were done, they were so cute, I put them back into the arrangement...and a TRADITION ensued.  So, this fall, we had additions from Elders Barrett(carrot on the left), who just went home, and Elders Alvis and Pollmeier.  It is a unique and meaningful arrangement that the zone leaders really get a kick out of when they come to the Mission Home for meetings.  We will add to it one more year!
