PEORIA INTERVIEWS 4/13

Friday we held interviews right here in the PEORIA/PEORIA N Zone.

Elder Rodgers was on hand to award the CLEAN CAR awards, to instruct on vehicle and bike safety and to share his testimony.

 He gave out a perfect score today for the first time on a vehicle...driven in and cleaned by Sisters Parks and Barnett.  He said it was so clean you could have eaten off the dash.  I think they get dinner at the Rodgers home to celebrate!

 Speaking of celebrating, we celebrated March and April birthdays for Elders Anderson, Hebert, Barley and Bruegger and Sister Pickett.

 At interviews we hold sort of a Zone Meeting/Zone Conference where I get to instruct along with the Zone Leaders while President Taylor conducts personal interviews with each missionary.  It is such a big chunk of time that I always try to have some sort of activity partway through to break it up and keep us awake.

This month we brought back to life (resurrected) the CLEANING RELAY!!!  I thought about inventing a new game...but why reinvent the wheel?  They loved it last year and over half our mission is brand new, so we just did it again!

 There are a series of about 7 stations involving some sort of cleaning implements...
everything from spraying down Mr Clean, to tossing toilet paper through a toilet seat, to tossing a scrubbie with a plunger!

 It takes a lot of teamwork to play so it is a great activity!

The 21 members of the Peoria/Peoria North Zone!  Front:  Elder D Bolinger, Sisters Barnett, Dayton, Pickett, Fluckiger and Elder Leonhardt.  Middle: Elders Ford, Arave, Empey, Davies, Sister Hansen, Elders Hamblin, Bruegger, C Anderson, Barley and Hebert.  Back:  Elders Kamissoko, Gapinski, Barrus, Sisters Hawkins and Parks.

I finished up all the instruction that I was doing earlier than usual today since I had to take Braden to the airport to fly him back up to Provo :(
He starts BYU Spring term later this month so he will not be gone too long.

 Zone leaders Hamblin and Davies led a great discussion on "Talking WITH Everyone."

They followed up with an activity back in the gym where they had the missionaries split up with Senior companions facing the wall of the gym and the junior companions walking around the gym.  When they said "GO" the Senior missionaries had only a few seconds to hurry to find someone to go talk to and start up a conversation...a MEANINGFUL one!

And how great it is when we learn to love everyone and know that it would be amazing to really get to know them.
We have the blessing of understanding the JOY that comes from living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As members of His church, we have the responsibility to SHARE THAT JOY with others to remind them that they chose to follow him once and that they can choose Him again!
