TRANSFER DAY is very special.
First of all, it is the first impression our new missionaries have of the culture of the mission and our missionaries. Here they are as they arrived at the stake center near our home...greeted by the always enthusiastic Elder Pehrson!!
Then they go to the Trainer/Trainee Meeting where they were introduced to their trainers.
The first photo is of all the incoming missionaries on one side of the room...
The next is of all the Trainers on the other side of the room...
...as President Taylor tells them the inspired assignments of who their first companions will be in the Mission.
The Spirit is very strong as those confirming feelings are felt by each of them.
Being a Trainer is the position of most responsibility in a Mission. It is so critical. And these trainers are THE BEST! They know what it means to work hard and be obedient and HAPPY in the work of the Lord. We are so excited for them to share what they know with these new and very prepared missionaries!
After our training meeting, the new missionaries are escorted into the chapel to sit on the stand as the other transferred missionaries sing "Called To Serve." We have about 1/3 to 1/2 of our mission in one spot at these meetings by the time we have all our District and Zone leaders in attendance for a leadership training that morning as well.
Here are the new missionaries along with 4 companionships with visa-waiting missionaries who came in on July 4 and needed to be introduced to the Mission.
They all get to share a brief testimony as they are introduced.
President and I get to share some thoughts from our hearts as well. And it is such a special time for reflection and building of testimony!
After the meeting is is pretty much time to BUILD FRIENDSHIPS with old friends and get on the road to new areas.
Plants do not always make the transfer well...Sad!
Love to get together with the Sisters that were at transfers!!! Sisters Harding, Uriostegui, Taylor, Folsom, Anderson, Zidek and Jeanfreau.
It was a very spiritual transfer experience!! Change is good and is directed by the Lord.
