Thursday we had Zone Conference with the Phoenix/ Phoenix N. and Phoenix S. Zones.
We managed to fit all of us in the Relief Society Room at the Stake Center. It got a little hot!
Our theme once again was PLANNING along with review from topics we have been working on as a mission.
It was our largest group this session of conferences, with the most sisters in one place!
This meant for some fun times at lunch where visiting is so important!
And not just for the Sisters...Elders are very social as well and love their time to eat and talk.
After lunch we had the traditional Thank You songs...Army of Helaman and Mission Fight Song. We really get into it!!
There were a lot of August and September birthdays in this group...lots of sisters very close birthdates!
We started the afternoon session with two musical numbers... I Need Thee Every Hour in A Capella...just beautiful!
Elders S. Anderson, Strickland, Bangerter, Cava, Jones and Castanos.
And "Come Thou Font" with Elder Wheelwright on the piano (see link above) also very beautiful!
Elders Hastings, Barker, Ingersoll, Morton, Omori, Dye, Colovich and Gillen.
Our missionaries love to sing and they do it well!
It really brought the spirit to our meeting!
I introduced the idea of planning by starting with the big things first...prioritizing our day and week with the most important things. Then we can fit in everything! If we start with the little stuff, it takes over and we do not have room for the important things like prayer, or sleep or study.
Later I taught on Weekly Planning. I knew that one of the key elements was chocolate...I went to a Sister Weekly Planning session so I was a professional!
Seriously, it was a great topic to discuss and we had a couple of breakout times to really work on our planners for the coming week.
Assistants Barrett and Alvis taught Goal Setting and other Zone Leaders taught Daily Planning.
See the link and other zone conf. photos for other activities we did in conference this week!
We heard departing testimonies from Elder Omori who was waiting to go to Mongolia but was reassigned to California after being denied a Visa. We will miss him so much! He was meant to be here for this time!
We heard from Elder McConnell also heading to school.
President Taylor wrapped up the day talking about Enduring to the End and summarizing what we learned today about planning.
We were all reinvigorated to really plan and prepare our day to make the most of it!
