We love that the year starts off with an INTERVIEW MONTH!
It is a great time to set goals for the year, to look at where we are at, what we are doing, what we want to do to change, and how we can get there.
While President Taylor was doing his interviews, I got to conduct part of the training with the zone.
I taught a lesson about FINDING...hmm...finding what.
Good question. When we talk about finding in missionary work, we are talking about the fact that every person on earth chose at one time to follow Jesus Christ. Every one of them. Even if they do not look like they did.
Our job is to be in the right place at the right time to make contact with people and to be a part of their journey back to their Heavenly Father.
Once we get to know that, it gives us confidence that NO CONTACT WITH ANYONE IS WASTED!
We know that we can speak with confidence about what we know. We can get to know our brothers and sisters so we know where their journey is right now and where we can help take them.
We enjoyed our SPEED CONTACTING practice teaching a lot. It gave us lots of practice and ideas to apply in "real play."
We also love that Elder Rodgers comes to help us learn about vehicle safety and to present the CLEAN CAR AWARDS that he is so kind to use to reward missionaries for their efforts in caring for mission vehicles.
Our office missionaries are incredible. Without their support, we would be in deep trouble indeed! And they LOVE like none other!
We love that Sister Rodgers often comes along with Elder Rodgers to really get a feel for what is going on in the mission and to help me with games and such! She is awesome as well!
Here we are in the practical lesson of the day about budgeting. Interview time is GAME TIME with Sister Taylor. Today it was LIFESIZE CHUTES AND LADDERS where we made all sorts of good and bad choices about our shopping and budgeting. Hopefully we all learned something we can use in our lives. We know that all these temporal principles are based on spiritual principles...even budgeting!
The zone leaders led some great practice teaching on how to implement some Mission Action Plan ideas and how to teach our investigators how to pray.
We really do learn so much as we practice teaching what we have just talked about. This works!
Thank you to the zone leaders, Elders Burden and Nield as well as each member of this zone for the great spirit we felt in this interview session.
They helped us unload a huge food delivery that came during the afternoon as well...tomatoes, zucchini, honeydew, bananas, breads and pastries, green peppers etc. We are so blessed in so many ways to be in this great mission!
