TRANSFERS Jan 2013

PLEASE CLICK ON THIS LINE FOR ALL PHOTOS FROM THIS EVENT

This morning after breakfast at the Mission Home and a Morningside to start our day, we brought our 20 new missionaries over to the Transfer Building near our home for them to meet their new TRAINERS...
...President Taylor tells them it is like 4th grade dance class with 1/2 the class on one side of the room and 1/2 on the other.  Except they don't dance, they hug!

They meet their trainer and get to talk for a while and then we train together for another hour.
When we are done, we take them into the chapel where the rest of the transferring and leadership in the Mission are waiting.  We sing "CALLED TO SERVE" as they come in and it is always so great!
We about filled the choir seats today with new trainers and trainees!  (And next transfer we may have up to 28 new missionaries coming in!)
It was a great meeting, feeling the confirmations of the Spirit that these new companionships are supposed to be together in specific areas to touch the lives of certain people.

We have fun afterwards just chatting as missionaries go to their new places.
I had told Elder Alvey I wanted to get him back to back with Elder Davies, and we got it done!  Elder Alvey wins by a hair...or the length of his hair at least.
Sister King and I could not resist the chance to get a photo of the tall and short of the mission!!!
Elder King was busy handing out more MISSION BREAD!  This bread was donated by a bakery over in Mesa and brought by Brother Cluff to the Mission Home. It was WONDERFUL!  Our missionaries are truly blessed by the generosity of others and we thank them!
I don't know if you can see the air that Elders Hastings and Dunn got in this picture, but it is impressive!  Somehow I think they have practiced this move...
And, I can never resist getting Sisters together for a little photo shoot...especially when those Sisters now have a TRUCK to drive and...
...the Elders next door have a MINIVAN!!!
But, look at the STYLE with which they drive it! And it does hold a lot of Elders to come down to meeting with from our northern zones!

SUCCESSFUL TRANSFER DAY!
Whew!  Only 5 weeks until next transfer because of the new training times in the MTC...catch our breath and away we go!
