BUCKEYE/GOODYEAR INTERVIEWS 10/13

PLEASE CLICK ON THIS LINE FOR ALL PHOTOS OF THIS EVENT!

We had another full week of interviews this week. Missionaries sometimes ask us what we do all day and it really varies month to month and day to day.  But when we are in the middle of interview days...we are REALLY BUSY!

You can see how much fun the Sisters had during our "working lunch!"  Elder Rodgers had a presentation about online accident reporting...

...along with his usual CLEAN CAR AWARDS!

He trains on safety and really expects these great young people to care for their vehicles and learn to be more self sufficient.
He also brings the love of the Office Missionaries when he comes to visit these sessions.  Our missionaries are well loved by ALL who serve them!
Elder Rodgers brought treats for all missionaries...he spoils them every chance he gets!

Today we also learned about the power of the CONFERENCE TALKS in our lives.  Ask your child for the schedule of conference talks if you want to study the same ones that we are studying each week!  I was taught by Sister Andersen at our SW Area Mission President Seminar on how this blessed their family as they grew up and we are implementing the same tradition in our family and mission family!
We learned about the new "ADJUSTING TO MISSIONARY LIFE" booklet that we are all now studying in the mission.  You can find it in PDF file online by clicking on this link and then logging into your own LDS Account.  Check it out, it is awesome!

We talked about the focus we all need to have...the different lens we use as optometrists of our use of time.  We use OUR PURPOSE as missionaries, THE EXAMPLE OF CHRIST our WHITE HANDBOOK and GOOD, BETTER, BEST!
Using those lens...we acted out in role plays all different scenarios of members trying to get us to make less than focused choices as missionaries.
We find that most members do not really understand our purpose or what would be the best use of our time.
Some of the role plays were really hilarious so it made learning very interesting!  Your children are just great!
At each interview session, I have a GAME...it is a longstanding tradition.

Today's game taught MANNERS.  It is called
SOCKBALL and if you do not set strict rules, it can get very crazy.  I admit, we did not set strict rules, so there was some blocking and stealing and such going on, but it was so much fun!
You can see that we did get carried away into some fighting over who got to whack the right answer!
Hopefully everyone learned something new...ask your child what new manners they learned to see!

I then suggested that since we are trying to think OUTSIDE THE BOX, that this game would be good to teach to the youth at Mutual or Seminary to teach manners for missionaries!  I have the files if they are interested in having me send them!
We always celebrate BIRTHDAYS when we get together!

HAPPY SEPTEMBER OR OCTOBER BIRTHDAY TO ELDERS JO. WEEKS AND KWOCK!
Elder Kwock favored us with the birthday song in Hawaiian as well which was really FUN!!

In the afternoon we discussed ONLINE PROSELYTING and how we can tighten up and be more focused as we plan better.  We talked a bit about DRESS AND GROOMING.
President Taylor spent about 8 minutes interviewing each missionary in the zone.  This is precious time and so important.

We are blessed as we spend time with these great people!  Centering our lives on serving others means great growth in our own lives.  We get to witness this daily as we associate with those who have given so much to bless the lives of others.
Thank you for your support and love and prayers!

Here is the great Buckeye Goodyear Zone at their finest after the game!
